Lishan has just sent me an URL and urged me to take a look. It’s Pando, a software that allows you to send files with any sizes through your email account. It overrides the size limit set by each email service provider, so that you don’t have to worry about sending a music video larger than 50MB or something like that.

The idea is cool. I am wondering what email providers’ opinions will be? Hate it or love it? Depends. There are always smart companies can make use of this kind of software which make use of their services. We will see.

It’s kind of interesting to find that douban.com is useful for gathering people with same topics together.

Douban is a website that allow people to exchange ideas, opinions and other information related to books, music and movies. By using the statistical data from user rankings, top popular publications are iterated in its frontpage, so good songs, novels and movies are introduced. In other words, the contents of the website is an outcome of community collaboration. By specifying one’s location or interest, related audio-visual product or publications which might be interesting to the user are recommended. It guesses your taste!

Other than that, it integrates discussion boards and social networking into itself. Are you from Shenzhen and living abroad? Come to join From Main Street To Shen Nan Dao at Douban. Leave your footprint there.

在Hamilton这个鱼龙混杂的地方，有淡水鱼也有海鲜，难免餐馆做起来众口难调。相对于多伦多的餐馆，很多价钱确实贵了点，不过确实因为地域关系，很多方面的开支相应增加，也是没有办法的事情。没开过餐馆，只写过程序，做好被嘲笑的思想准备，想当然地列出几点建议：

• 人力资源：应该辞一个full-time的伙计，雇个学成本控制的part-time
• 物流后勤：可以跟附近的新城或者华隆OEM一下，边角料做成冷冻食品外卖。Hamilton电费贵，光线保留在61.8%足矣。
• 宣传优惠：上来个VIP打折卡，小费主动给客人退了，逢节假日送盘菜，以增加声誉

Hamilton的餐馆大部分是广东厨子，但内地来的学生多，增加点北方口味就是增加优势。不要自我感觉良好，盈利的同时也要集中精神扩大市场，做生意来点中国特色，是很有帮助的事情。

I have just received my membership card from Association for Computing Machinary (ACM). My class is student, and this membership is provided due to my participation of 2005 ACM East Central North America Regional Programming Contest last year. I wrote about those two days during the contest at here and here, and the pictures can was placed here.

过去若干个星期对自己的人生意义不同凡响，一个最直接的改变就是我需要更加充分地利用时间，这样才可以早日完成学业。同时，还需要分配一定的课余来学习新的知识，为明年的大挑战作准备。前些天做了一张壁纸贴在了电脑的桌面上（不支持Internet Explorer 7和Windows Vista以下版本），不知道未来的我听不听使唤。

There are too many friends asking me for experience in job seeking recently and I replied them with many tips and hints. Soon, I find that the problem of them is that they don’t understand the recruiting process well, while most of them have good qualities.
